Spanish congregations, according to my experience here in California, are stagnant. The big surges hapenned in the 90's. Now the congregations gain one and lose one.

A JW apologist writes about VAT 4956

a jw wrote the following in an attempt to discredit the evidence provided by vat 4956. comments on the author's logic would be appreciated.

many point to vat 4956 as proof that jerusalem was desolated in 587bce.

Whoever wrote the copy of VAT4956 did not have the tools as we do (computers and a vast array of information regarding planetary and lunar motion) to falsify something that fits so well into a year, year 568/567 BCE. Lots of things can be falsified and you can get away with it. But a fit for a particular year of astronomical data (about 36 discernible observations) can not be falsified or made up unless you have the technological advances of modern times. No way Jose. The planets and the moon will not allow lying or fabrications. They are unforgiving, unless you believe God can suspend or modified the motion of the celestial spheres, thus violating his own laws, to accomodate to whatever he wants. JW's leaders do exactly that. They interpret Bible and secular data to fit their beliefs. They don't adjust their beliefs according to facts and evidence

whenever he responds to a topic, i just have to laugh out loud!

i love the visuals-- they are very much to the point.

even with serious topics, when outlaw shows up to contribute, i smile, chuckle, giggle, or let it all out!

Just got reminded of the windowless kingdom hall full of window washers, which was posted right after another funny comment. He is definitely talented and very much needed here. Few of us would be in anger management sessions if it weren't for outlaw's funny visuals. Thank you OUTLAW. Don't do as Leolaia did. I miss that lady so much. I couldn't take another loss like that.

Interstingly in page 16 the WT makes a review through questions of the latest doctrines and advice, which pretty much are the article that have been discussed here. The WT wants to make sure that R&F reallly remembers and understands. Have they done tha before?

Yeah, I was thnking about those magazine titles. I speculate that they want to avoid any possibility of a dispute over copyrights infringement or something of that nature.

In that same country, a building project was scheduled for a much needed Kingdom Hall.

The local brothers and sisters wanted to assist. However, the project was to be undertaken in

the middle of their planting season. Still determined to have a share, they worked on the

Kingdom Hall project during the day and then went into the fields in the evening to make sure

that they got their crops planted. What a selfsacrificing spirit!

The paragraph above is from the Watchtower of Dec 2013. What bothered me is the abuses of the Watchtower that decides to make projects according to its own convenience and despite the trouble it creates for the very people who make the greatest contribution and is most needy. What an abusive, callous, inconsiderate "spirit-guided" organization!

I was there. Good movie. My only observation is that women were underrepresented. Women are the majority, they do the heavy lifting in the preaching work, they are the most devout, and they also are the greatest influence on children, especially when they marry non believers. I think their voice can carry even more power than the voice of "those men", who are often inclined to do the wrong thing (have fun, sex, drink, party, go wild), and therefore have convenient reasons for leaving the organization. Men's voice come stronger in the doctrinal and historical aspects because many have been elders, but the issues of the movie were more on the emotional side, the area where women can carry more weight
